Show Me Lights

Last night we visited the Museum of the South West for their annual Student Art Exhibition.  Despite each child in the lower school selecting their favourite piece of work to display in the Children's Museum, only about thirty Trinity pieces were on the walls,  which sadly didn't include one from Toots.

Some of the art and crafts produced by K5-12th Graders were stunning.  Some were, well, obviously drawn by 5 year olds.  But this was 'Best in the show'.

And the free cookies, lemonade and Chex Mix did wonders to cheer up those that couldn't show off their own artwork.

Included in the evening was free entrance to the Planetarium to see a their new dome show: Back to the Moon for Good, about the Google LunarX Prize.  Joey, surprisingly, wasn't fond of the overall experience and therefore curled up small in my lap and peeked reluctantly at only a tiny bit of the dome.  Which suited me just fine: you don't often get good long cuddles from toddlers unless they're asleep!!

First Date

It ended up being a late night, but ask my kids about the moon, Jupiter or Orion, and they might just surprise you.  And you never know, we might even check out a 'star party' one of these months...
