Everybody's On The Run

After the success of our Easter Egg hunt, our Kids Ministry decided to hold a team Fun Run around Inverurie this afternoon.  Initially put to me to organise as a Water Fun Run, it was quickly reduced to a mere fun run given that Scotland is not actually that warm in my opinion and getting wet and running for two miles might not be such fun in my opinion.

More fool me, eh.  Did you experience the weather on Saturday?!?

Anyway, we did keep some water elements, including Splat the Pastor, Water Balloon Jumps and Water Pistol Shoot-out games to complete on route, as well as generously offering ice poles at our 'refreshment station', which was manned by Oma in our garden.

Team GB - can you spot the tennis player, netball player, gymnast,
swimmer, ballet dancer, footballer, basketball player and judo contestant?

I, sadly, didn't manage to do any of the running as I was too busy sunning myself making sure all our teams could read the map and didn't get lost - there was actually fear of that at one point, with the final team eventually coming 'home' two hours after they started.  Three of the five of them were under five though so that was still pretty good going!

Of course next year when we plan actual full on water games it'll be a cold and miserable day ;)
