On Sunday the Don headed up to Banffshire for two football matches at exactly the same time but in neighbouring towns.

Post-match and pre-ballet back in Inverurie, the Don took the kids further along the coast to check-out Tarlair Swimming Pool. Opened in 1931 at the base of the sea cliff just outside Macduff, this is considered by Historic Environment Scotland to be the best example of only three surviving outdoor seaside pools in Scotland (the others being in Stonehaven and Gourock). The complex was built in an Art Deco style with a main building backing onto the cliffs. It was announced in 2014 that £300,000 will be earmarked for the refurbishment of the pools, though clearly nothing has happened yet!
Meanwhile Toots and I spent all day Sunday in Aberdeen Sports Village and I can tell you, leaving the house at 7am, only getting home at 8pm and standing for 9 hours poolside was not as much fun as scrambling on the Moray Coast was!
All in all it was what has pretty much become an average weekend!!
