As it happens we actually celebrated all day yesterday as today with two swimming before school and one swimming straight after school we literally had 15 minutes between 7 and 7:15pm when all six of us were in the house, and during that time Lightning had to both eat his dinner and get changed for Scouts.
So we celebrated when we had all day to enjoy the baked chocolate orange cheesecake and green-chilly chicken enchiladas and opening of the presents, which was wonderful and is kinda part of life as a grownup, but does make for your actual birthday day to be kinda boring and non-existent! Ach well, there was at least still cake to eat today.
