AuntyStina and kiddos came through again to picnic, play and paddle for the afternoon, so it was lovely to catch up with them, and with Toots who is down in Edinburgh working as their 6-week au-pair this summer.
Sadly Joey didn't qualify as part of the IRC team this year*, but finding out this morning that he got a high Merit on the Grade 4 piano exam he took last week (an exam his piano teacher didn't even want him to take this session, which resulted in the launch of Operation:Merit to stick it to her) most definitely took the sting out of the result!!

*Turns out Joey has actually qualified as 1st reserve, or fifth member of the Scottish TS3 (13-14) IRC team, which means he can take part in the training camps, order, wear and use the kit, and should someone pull out, even last minute, we'll be expected to head down to Leicester for the Super Series, 29th-30th August. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing yet!
