Our Joey 'enjoyed' his first swim yesterday:
All 4.5 months, 15lb 12oz (7.16kg) and 23.5in (59.7cm) of him.
Turns out he's on the 65th pecentile for weight but only 5th for height, so either he's taking after the Boyd-quines in height, or he's just had a massive outward growth spurt and will hopefully have an upward one next. That, or the measurements were off, which I have to say is likely given the antiquated way of doing them at our paediatrician's office.
Any which way, he's growing well, and he enjoyed his swim. He could well have enjoyed it two weeks ago when we started swimming, but I gotta say it's hard work keeping an eye on four kids in a pool full of them!
One can swim no problem, one thinks she can swim no problem (and she can actually, but it's one too many without a swim vest on for my liking) and one can float well in his new puddle-jumper but likes his mum's attention and can't quite yet communicate what it is he wants. So adding a baby to the mix, well, it proves quite hard work.
Still, swimming almost every day ain't a bad way to spend a summer!
