Mr. Crowley

Scarecrow*

The scarecrow stands in the field all day,
Scaring the big, black crows away.
Caw! Caw! Caw!

He doesn't scare me for all the while,
He wears a great big painted smile.
Haw! Haw! Haw!

And what a well sewn up scarecrow it is, even if I do say so myself.

With a lot of planning from the teacher, a pile of old clothes, seven volunteer parents, fifteen kids and one and a half hours (and a lot of pin pricks on my fingers), we managed to create five new members of Toots's First Grade class. For the Fall anyway.

Take note of her full set of teeth at 11am:

* Toots's fifth poem learned, which earned her a freeze pop at lunch.  These teachers have bribery, sorry rewards, sussed.
