Anyway, we were late because it's International Week at Trinity, and last night they hosted a Festival of Nations. There was no table on Britain/Scotland that we saw - maybe we're just not exotic enough - which meant there was more time to go round and find out about some of the other nations represented at the school. Or rather, taste their foods, including koshary from Egypt, empanadas from Argentinia, that classically French Nutella crepe, and don't forget the ever popular tortilla chips and queso dip from Texas. Sorry, Mexico.
Toots did actually take part with some other First Graders by singing a couple of Spanish songs - I think the first was something about the alphabet and the second maybe about vowels? but to be honest I'm not too sure. The subject matter didn't seem to matter to Joe who clapped his hands and bopped his head throughout: he's definitely got a musical ear. Then we left during the Second Grades rendition of Frere Jacques ("you know that mum!??!!?") to once again brave the sub-zero temperatures and go get us some dessert.
Which we may well be eating for the forseeable future. Yum!
