Lazy Wonderland

The weather warmed up today so we finally managed to visit our local mecca - the freibad.  Ideally we wanted to spend at least four days here out of our five full days in Germany, but sadly Texas has deaclimatised us to European warmth.

Every time we come here though, something else has changed (not surprising I guess since we were last here four years ago, and then four years before that), which makes it, just, not-quite-the-same-as-when-we-were-kids.  Which is a shame...  but then it is probably now better, more child friendly, cleaner, safer, yada yada yada... but it's still not the same.  Check out the brand new children's pool:

Keen to continue her diving!

The last babysitter standing...

Southern German pools are just such fun.  With acres of grass to lounge around on, playparks and sand pits to entertain the kids, mini goal posts, table-tennis tables and volleyballs you can borrow, plenty of ice-cream, cold drinks, pommes... and all for just three euros per day.

A lazy wonderland.

It was pretty empty, but early afternoon was also cloudy. When the sun came out the pool got busier, but still, nothing like what we remember!
