Between November and Easter he played in the Academy sports hall, but since Easter they've been on the field across from our house, and it's been ace. Except someone still needs to sign him in and out... which surprisingly often has been Oma. But what a perfectly handy place to play!
Every May Colony have a huge event and parade from Colony Park on Harlaw Road (where the actual Junior Team play) down through the village to the Town Hall, which the players fill - I mean there are so many red and black jumpers that there is no room for parents. Which for me meant one less thing to feel guilty about as I was through at ASV with Toots for a swim meet and the Don was flitting between church, Colony Park, the Garioch Sports Centre for Tiger's dance rehearsal, and iChum's house for the spare key for our house which Lightning had locked, along with the car keys, in the car.
But trusty fb had some pictures... Being the newbies Colony 2011 was up and out first, which meant they didn't then need to sit through the following two hour award ceremony with speeches, which I think everyone was thankful for.
Other than train every Saturday, the 2011 team take part in 4x4 festivals against other teams in the Shire. Unfortunately most of these are on Sunday mornings or Sunday lunch times, which because of church our poor loon is just not able to make... until last week when it was on the playing fields across from our house so a lunch time KO was achievable! At least for Lightning... the Don had to factor in being back at the Town Hall to sign Tiger in and out of her dance rehearsal, which ran late (Toots and I, once again, were at a swim meet), and so only managed to watch the first twenty minutes of play.
