My orchid is coming back to life!
I'd always 'heard' that after it stopped flowering you could cut the stem, let it sit somewhere cool-ish, and wait for a new stem and buds to appear, so last year that's exactly what I did. It did look somewhat rubbish and stalky, but I faithfully watered it (clearly not too much), and lo and behold a few months ago a new stem started growing and this past week new buds have appeared. I'm really quite excited by it all!
