However, today is actually the last day of the school term, and as well as receiving at least a dozen emails today alone from the primary school and a handful from the secondary alone (telling kids their new class teachers, informing them of what 'Bubble' they will be in, explaining the new back to school procedures for Plan A and Plan B, giving YouTube links for farewell videos made by this year's teachers and welcome videos for next year's teachers) it was also the day of Tiger's Leavers' Assembly. Usually held in a local church to which the whole school and parents of award winners are invited, it is also usually full of tears and high emotion. This year thanks to Covid it was held live via Google meets, with the two P7 teachers and the headmaster driving around Inverurie surprising the winners of each award - basically a Challenge Anneka Lockdown Special.
Tiger was the well deserved recipient of the Achievement in Music Award, and even more impressively, was short listed for every other award too! She wouldn't let me film her when the teachers came to the door, but it was so nice of them to present all the awards (and eventually the Cups that go along with the awards) personally.
Another P7 right of passage is their Leavers' Show. This year it was a rip off of 'Good Morning' (the theme of which Tiger learned to play on the piano - though no more than the first few bars as it's in the key of E flat minor or something!). Sadly it was too big to upload to YouTube and publish on the blog, but maybe if I've got time at some point in the next few weeks I'll extract the bits that Tiger is in so you can see / hear her.
And basically that's it: the end of our Tiger's life in primary school!
