So funnily enough, like everything else since March, our annual swim club Championships had to be completely reworked and COVIDified. Out was a day of racing, relays and a large club meal and presentation evening, and in came our very own, much-hyped:
![]() |
| Based on the ISL (International Swimming League) whose final was in Budapest this weekend |
Three teams, over three days (all socially distanced and COVID-regulated of course) battled it out via Livestream...
..to win more points than Peaty and get a higher score than Scott (they're both British swimmers that took part in the ISL, FYI).
Being COVID regulated meant there was no shouting, no cheering and very little whistle blowing, which resulted in slightly less atmosphere than would normally be ideal, but 1. there were team t-shirts!! 2. it was professionally recorded so next Saturday at our Zoom Presentation Evening we should have a cracking set of highlights, and 3. watching from the comfort of your stove-warmed living room is definitely a bonus!
Anyway, here is our Bennachie Beast in action last Thursday night, and our Don Devil this afternoon. Both are in the lanes furthest away from the camera (and they only worked out how to livestream via Facebook in Landscape mode after the races on Thursday!):
Looking forward to finding out the winners next Saturday!
