Thunder Road

I tell you, I'm taking this outdoor living thing seriously! Over 1.5 hours in a park watching nine 8 and 9 year olds play in still minus temperatures with nothing but a picnic mat, fluffy blanket and thermos of tea.  That's friluftsliv if ever there was!  That's also, sadly, the only way a birthday party will work lockdown-style, but work it did really well, thanks in most part to the sun that did shine for most of the morning.

And from the park with friends to a McDonald's drive through.  Could Joey's day get any better?!?

Why yes it could...

A Thunder Hollow Crazy 8 cake!!!!

A pretty cracking 8th birthday, despite the pretty crappy circumstances*.

*We had such great plans for this January's birthdays! Joey, finally being 8, meant that we could hire a local pool and have a pool party complete with aqua-run.  It was going to be a joint party for Tiger and Joey (and Lightning after his birthday was a wash out in May) and Tiger especially was really looking forward to it since she postponed a party last year in lieu of celebrating big this year.  The cake was gonna be awesome (and pool shaped, complete with blue jelly water, obviously), the guest list was gonna be huge, the aqua-run was gonna be hilarious....  Maybe next year?!?
