Pull Me Back

Ever wondered why some tins of beans have ring-pulls and others don't, which means you need a tin-opener to open them?!? I wonder that every time I make a chilli (which is pretty much always a bean chilli nowadays and uses whatever beans I have in the cupboard).

Why would cannellini beans and haricot beans have ring-pulls but borlotti beans and kidneys beans, which are surely one of the most common beans used, not?  Or is it because canellini and haricot beans are 'more expensive / high end products' and therefore deserve a more expensive "EO" (that's easy-open, if you haven't Googled the question already) can?

Surely not.

But this does sound exactly like one of those posts that pop up from the "dull men's club" fb page.  Can't think why they keep appearing in my feed...
