Made In America

The Don comes home for a normal every-day lunch to meet a weeping wife, frustrated by days of very little happening since her waters broke last Sunday, and one hour of randomly felt intense pain in her belly and back thanks to a second dose of castor oil.

Less than an hour and thirty minutes later*, only about five minutes after arriving at the birth centre (well, a l-o-n-g five minutes standing outside waiting for the midwives to come back from lunch), and after a mere three painful pushes, he has a new baby boy.  He could've been back at work for his 2:30 meeting, though thankfully he wasn't.  But everyone was home for a Rosa's bean and cheese burrito take-out for tea.  Yum.

Meet Zachary David Boyd.  Born 30th January 2013 at 1:39pm, weighing a wee 6lb 14oz (3.19kg) and 19.75 inches long (50cm).

Not a bad photographer is our Toots.

*The time does not take away from the pain, believe you me.  But as one who has had 14 hours, 18 hours, and over 2 days of contractions with her three previous children, all I want to say is thankyou to Midland Bible Church Women's Bible Study for your prayers for a short labour.  It was intense, too intense maybe, but it was quick, and I am incredibly thankful for God answering that prayer.  It was very very much needed.
