Sadly we no longer live round the corner from the wonderful EE so I actually had to make my own cheesecake for the first time in three years. Actually, I did seriously debate just visiting The Cheesecake Factory for dinner as well as dessert, but my deep belief in the fact that birthday cakes should be home-made won out. Which the Don does appreciate: it's a mighty fine tasting cake it has to be said, even if it is a non-bake one.

And now there are no more valid reasons (unpacking, sorting out the house, settling kids in to school and routines, unwell children, birthday preparation and presentation...) to not go out and make some new friends...
