Lost In Paradise

A week ago we came back from paradise.  It feels like a month ago.

Only three words to describe the week the Don and I spent on Baa Atoll without any children:

Best.

Holiday.

Ever.

No you're right, I would never be able to whittle it down to just three words, but those three words are definitely the best three words.

I'm sure you can guess what made it so great: the lack of kids; the slice of paradise; the stunning white sands and crystal blue seas; the daily lazy snorkelling, the water sports when we wanted to be active, and the massages and hours of uninterrupted reading when we didn't; the perfect weather*; and the most one-on-one time I've spent with my husband since... phew... since we had a child.

Best.  Holiday.  Ever.

Of course thank you incredibly much super aunt-uncle combo (from now on known as Jona) for your babysitting duties, and we'll see you again soon!

* We had weather.  W-e-a-t-h-e-r!!  It was wonderful.  Maybe not if you came from the UK and wanted a week of glorious sunshine, but for us, it was oh. so. perfect.  We had a few thunderstorms through the night with the rain and wind lashing and lightning flashing (amazing when one wall of your room is totally glass and opens straight out to the ocean); we had some big black clouds roll in and rain squalls passing over us during the day; and an hour after each it was back to blue skies and brilliant sunshine.  Or sometimes a covering of cloud, which in our overly-sunned eyes was even better.  It was never cooler than 28, never hotter than 31, and had a sea temperature of about 29 degrees, though the humidity did nothing for my hair.  Ach you win some, you lose some...
