Happy People

"Wow, the boys are in a great mood," the Don remarks, after I come in from getting a quick nail fix.  I went out the minute after he got home.

"Of course," I reply. "They've had a wonderful mum looking after them all afternoon and evening.  Or... they have basically had what they think of as a 'perfect' evening.  They had no toys to tidy up or clear away when we got home from school, because we only got home after 6pm thanks to a Zumba CCA for Toots and then ballet class for Tiger.  They immediately got to put a movie on, then had pizza followed by popcorn sitting in front of it, thanks to being late getting home, not having any other food in the house and it being the last day of the week [as tomorrow is a holiday].  As a result they had food they loved, no table to set, no dinner dishes or table to clear up, no dishwasher to empty or fill and no crumbs to clear up.  They also had no homework to do when they got home since we have all weekend, did no reading since we did that while waiting on the girls, and also enjoyed incredibly long showers as I was whiling away the time till you came home.  Then, to top it all off, they got to play in their rooms until 'daddy got home', which gave me a nice fifteen minutes of reading in our bedroom, and then when you did finally get home they got to play with you, then you read them stories, and only then did their tired wee bodies have to go to bed.  What's there not to be in a cracking mood about?!"

Time for some pizza, movie and beer to start our weekend off so well ;)
