Yet at 6am (5am body clock time incase you didn't work it out!) my alarm clock went off anyway, and up I got to go help set up a raffle stall for the swim club at our local Run Garioch event. And it was c-o-l-d, so nothing like last year then!
Still, after two hours I got to come back home and thaw out for ten minutes before heading out to church, which we didn't manage last year thanks to the Don's 10km race in the morning. The sun then shone as we walked back up to the sports centre in time for the kids races, and we were hoodwinked into believing it was going to be a fine afternoon for a run. It wasn't. No, don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, it was just cold, so cold, so cold in fact that two of the Don's fingers turned white and stopped working. Maybe he should have ran after all...
Hardy enough for t-shirts!
Setting off...
0:02:57 and third place! Though we thought he was fourth and so didn't stay for the medal ceremony ooops.
Joey managed the course in 0:03:32, beating Lightning's time last year by 5 seconds (though it was a different -and much better- course this year)
0:5:29 was Tiger's time for 1km
And Toots, now being 10, had to run 2km: 0:09:22
Good times.
