Alternative Power to the People

Turns out I didn't actually blog it last year when Toots went (probably because what goes on in Dalguise stays in Dalguise), but each year the P7s at Kellands have the opportunity to go on an adventure week which is held in Dalguise, just north of Dunkeld.  Of course due to the coronavirus Tiger's actual trip was cancelled (along with her Leavers' Assembly and Leavers' Disco and End of Term Awards Ceremony and Transition [up to the Academy] week....) but the teachers didn't want the kids to miss out on it all, so created a 'lockdown Dalguise' which included all the classic activities* they would have taken part in had they been away.  Not quite the same thing, but a good idea and great break from usual school work!

This is some of what Tiger got up to (and there are lots of videos!):

Rock climbing and abseiling

Tree climbing

Archery

Robot Wars

Orienteering

It didn't get stuck!

Scary Stories

Room Inspection

Can you tell we also discovered iMovies this week?!

*You'll notice that Tiger is wearing the same hoodie in every single photo - that's because it's her Leaver's Hoodie - and that hoodie and leggings are pretty much the standard uniform for all girls during their week away.  What this year's P7s did get that previous years' haven't, is possession of said hoodie months ago.  Usually it is handed out the Friday before Dalguise, and then the kids can wear it instead of uniform for the rest of their school term (which is basically three weeks).  Tiger's year were allowed to have them as soon as they were delivered, which was about six weeks ago now.  Not that anyone could see them in them, but at least it was one way to feel slightly special!
