Capital-E

And since we had Friday off school too, and the girls needed picked up from Edinburgh on Saturday evening anyway, and because we now have family in the capital (woop woop!), we headed down the road for thirty-six hours of fun and frolicks.

We spent the afternoon back at the epic National Museum of Scotland, though really it was just an excuse for Lightning to use his free bus travel which he has been crazily excited about. A return bus trip from Merchiston beats a trip to Perth or Stirling which he's been asking for!

Pretty much the only photo taken inside the museum -
and just to make Toots jealous (of the clotted cream scone)
Clearly a lot of 'museumning' was done!

Saturday saw the Don and I escape child-care for a few hours which allowed Simina to experience life as a family of six, bwah ha ha ha ha.  They hit the zoo, and by all accounts had a fabulous time (except for the baby who refused to go to sleep) and Joey came home even more determined to be a zookeeper when he's older - or a hot-dog seller on the beach, he's not decided yet.  They even got to the front of the bus on the way home which was the icing on the cake!

And then it was time to leave and pick up the travellers and spend a looong three hours driving home...

Thank you for having and hosting us, and I'm sure we'll see you again very, very soon!
