Joey did super well on his swim and run legs, and was happy enough with his bike, especially after cycling and running the whole course with only one and a half feet in his shoes after a slightly unfinished T1!
He finished fifth boy overall behind two fellow previous IRC qualifiers and two who are known for their speed on the bikes, so he was very, very happy given that Lochore, the second qualifier, is an aquathlon.
And after all that sport was done, it was a quick 15 minute drive to Murano to have lunch with our Toots. We also discovered that the canal that runs alongside Murano is the same canal that Joey just ran along, only 6km down stream, so if we'd known that I'd have made him cycle down into Glasgow!
Anyway, it was a gorgeous day and we all enjoyed our giros and loop and scoop ice creams at the Botanics, before hot footing it back up to ASV in time for Joey to take part in the final relay of the UoA meet. What a weekend!
