Natalie has always been Nadallee, and Katie, Kaydee, but now water is most definitely wader, much like Sadurday, compuder and tomado (though we haven't yet reached tomaydo).
On the other hand, she still remembers home. This morning, 8:53am, outside our house:
"Mummy, mummy! Come here. Smell this.
It's cold. Just like mornings in Inverurie!"
And it really was a lovely crisp and sunny, Scottish winter morning. It didn't smell of manure from the fields though so wasn't exactly like home.

Reading the article made me think more about the differences between Scots (and Irish I suppose!) and English and American, particularly for words like water - wauter/wautagh/wader.
Anyway, an interesting read! Wonder how long kids keep accents for.
