What did I say about disasters always happening on a Friday?
The Don comes home early today to find the Atmos man once again in our house. Apparently in the last month we've used 500+ units of gas, compared to June 2011 when we used 22. "Did we have a leak?" he wondered.
I think the increase is actually from the last leak, but nevertheless the man checked the pipes and found another leak, this time in the section coming out of the hot water tank. So he switches off the gas saying we have to replace the leaking section, then leaves. Minutes later, the Don has to leave cos he can't exactly miss his ride and there's not much he can do for me that won't take an hour. So me, I'm left with a hot water tank that's switched off, a pipe that is apparently easy to replace but still needs to be bought, and no desire to trail three under-fives to locate the appropriate pipe in Lowes before locating the approptiate tools in the garage, then shutting the kids in the house so they can't crawl out in to the garage and in to my way (which young Lightning would, without doubt, do). And of course, all the men I know and would ask to help me out are away.
So thank you incredibly kind couple from church who came out and fixed it within a few hours for me, and thank you kind couple from church who organised for them to come out and fix it for me! Our hot water is much appreciated.
