End Of The Beginning

...and not so much the beginning of the end as we had thought.

That's right, the plumber didn't come on Wednesday as planned to re-lay the carpet (which in hindsight was obviously a good thing), though it would have been nice to hear that from the realtor and not as a text from the plumber on the way to the birth centre.  Instead, she had organised proper carpet people to come back and work on the carpet, then as a bonus, a cleaner to come in and clean the house.  Wonderful!

Except of course today when the carpet people came back we found out that they couldn't rehang the closet door because some of the bits were missing (the plumber took the door off so we'll have to contact him about where those bits are), and worse, the concrete that was poured on Monday wasn't actually flush with the rest of the floor, but about half an inch lower.  Which the Don did actually see on Monday after it was poured, but what can I say, we had other things on our mind...  So of course now that the carpet is down there's a massive ridge the length of the room, worse right near the door where we walk in and out, which isn't just annoying but will, without too much effort, tear through the carpet if left and walked on.

See... even us boys can match.

Now the plumber is gonna have to come back at some point to lift the carpet back up, repour the concrete and then let it set before the carpet folks can come back and redo the carpet.  And then we can hopefully get the cleaners back in and actually clean the room, before finally moving the girls furniture and stuff back in.  It's taken nine days so far... any bets on when this'll end?

The photos are just cos they're cute.
