Perched on a rocky hilltop and bristling with zig-zag battlements, stout walls and spiky turrets, from afar the fortified city looks like something out of a children's storybook. It's most people's perfect idea of a medieval castle, and it's an impressive spectacle - not to mention Languedoc's biggest tourist draw, with over four million visitors every year.
It was a beautiful beautiful city, but sadly not one to visit with kids and a buggy. Still ...
... great for crepes, ice-cream and the purchase of Expansion Pack 1.
