Fire It Up

"Remember, remember the 5th of November..." is something that is drummed in to every British child in the Autumn.  And seemingly something we have failed to teach Toots, since she had the audacity to ask me what Guy Fawkes was last night.  We've been celebrating this year after year after year!  Check out the crafts we made for our first year in the States.

Anyway, it's my all-time favourite British celebration, and so after Awana last night we hot-footed it round to Pink's house to celebrate with our favourite Scots and adopted Tunisian-Scots (who's kids, I found out this week, can pass on their British nationality to their kids, while our boys can't!  But that's a whole different post that AunTia needs to tell you about...).

woooow

Thanks to Pink's mum (and an ER trip with seven stitches later) we even had a bonfire this year, complete with Guys.

But of course no American fire would be complete without roasting marshmEllows...

And our celebrations next year will be all the better thanks to the stash of sparklers we now have.  Cheers!

Yes indeed, THAT blogpost is a-coming. It just keeps getting longer and longer as we face yet another bureaucratic hurdle.

So what was the ER trip all about?

And you'll need to start off the sparklers next year with a speech on Guy Fawkes! A toast to the fire type thing...
