Back to School

And we have Internet!!  I mean it's only been 3+ weeks since we flew home and into this house, and 4 weeks since the order was actually placed...  Good ole British Telecom and 'issues' with the line.

Anyway, this week was our first week proper in Inverurie, which meant settling into a new school, a new nursery, an old familiar town and a new normal.

Jumpers, tights and boots: so very different from our last first day!

Part of that normal is walking the 0.8 miles to and from school every day, come rain, hail, shine (what's that?) and gale.

School was great!  The weather, not so much.

On Tuesday we were told that Joey had been allocated a place at the school nursery, which was a real answer to prayer, so five afternoons a week he'll be entertained too.

Which leaves me with up to 24 miles to walk each week, and in desperate need of my Berghaus rain jacket, Hunter welly boots, North Face puffa, thick hiking socks and Ugg gloves, which are all wonderfully warm and dry in our container somewhere in the Med.  I so underestimated the temperature and weather that we would arrive home to!
