So far he's learned all about Oily Mixtures, Paper Planes, Surface Tension, Bottle Flute, Name that Face and Jumping Pepper (though that one wasn't actually success) and all of which have required very little parental guidance, preparation or explanation. He is desperate to Make Butter and Make Gloop, but both require a bit more preparation (namely double cream and cornflour in the cupboard) and I'm sure one day soon I'll remember to actually buy them at the supermarket.
Today we attempted Stable Structures, which by far has drawn the biggest crowd* and given us the biggest winners and losers:
First to make a 3D shape!
First to two levels
First that wasn't a cube
Tiger showed incredible dedication and left the others standing... though actually as it happens, they all got bored and left her to make a stand all on her own.
Anyway, that bag of leftover mini-marshmallows is now packed up for holidays, spaghetti (the intended stick material) is on the shopping list, and we're gonna come back to this challenge one day next week when it's sure to be chucking it down with rain.
* Obviously it was all to do with the challenge and not the fact that marshmallows were involved (and could be eaten at the end).
