Shine On You Crazy Diamond

This past weekend we embarked on a 900+ mile journey down to Newcastle-under-Lyme to celebrate my great Uncle and Aunt's 60th wedding anniversary, which in this day and age is definitely something to celebrate!

First up was a relaxing friends and family hog roast in their back garden, where the food was delicious, there was plenty room for the kids to run around, and us sisters got a good nosey at all the old family snaps and artifacts.  My great-uncle is my Granny's brother - and the last of that generation - and it's fascinating to see all the past generational links coming together in photos and through the family tree.

B&W photos don't show the pink!

On Sunday we celebrated the renewal of their vows before eating lunch at the magnificent Keele Hall, a 19th century manor house and now part of the University of Keele where Uncle Gilbert worked for over thirty years.

Any excuse for a kilt!

Great-great uncle, aunt, nieces and nephews!

What a fantastic gathering of the family it was... and totally worth the playing of musical-motorways on the way home.
