Magical Mystery Tour

Ir's been over a year of watching little Colly grow via Whatsapp and fee fi fo fum, but this week we finally got to 'aunt' and 'cousin' him in person again, yey!  Well, five of us did - Toots is on her P7 class trip to Dalguise all week so will only be home for about an hour on Friday before Aunty Fona and Colly need to head to the airport :(

Anyway, we loved having them visit us as part of their 2019 Tour de UK and France, and Tour it is, managing all four Clan siblings in four different locations within a fortnight, not to mention the other side of their family.  I remember those summer tours well [and with a mix of fondness, and relief that they're only memories]!

Given that we only had a few days with them, and that it was chucking it down with rain, we decided to forgo school one afternoon and head to Hoodles instead.  I mean you're never too old - or young - for Hoodles, right?!  You're certainly never too old for the tea and home bakes!

...or for a bath together. Though luke-warm and three inches deep is probably neither Lightning nor Joey's preferred choice!  Just as well it's all about the company...

And a visit to the 'Shire wouldn't be the same without a visit to Castle Fraser, even if it was a tad cold and damp under foot, and cut short but the earlier-than-expected return home of Toots.

You forget that toddlers don't pose!

 

Which meant we were finally able to get a cousin photo - by which point Colly wasn't particularly up for it, Joey was done with smiling, and Tiger was about to rush out the door...

We'll miss you, and can't wait to see you all at Christmas!
