(Almost) Sweet Music

First week of the holidays is over! But not before the Don and I had the chance to check out the week's worth of musical works that took place at the annual primary Easter Gaitherin'.  This is the first one the boys have managed to take part in, though Toots and Tiger have been regular attenders, both in primary and high school, since 2017 (which is probably the only time I properly explained what The Gaitherin' actually was).

Anyway, Joey picked keys, guitar and accordion to learn, while Lightning chose guitar, drums and chanter, but they only had time to 'perform' at the concert on their first choice instrument.

The guitar, however, proved such a popular instrument over the course of the week that we are now the proud owners of a new 3/4 sized Fender which, I think, has been played more in the last 48 hours by both boys, Tiger and the Don, than the Don's full sized one that's been hanging on our toy room wall for the last five years.  It's probably about time we also updated our music though, since my 'Hits of the 90s', ' Bryan Adams' and 'Eric Clapton' guitar books are probably not the best pieces for the kids to learn initially!
