The Weekender

With Toots, Tiger and Lightning away, and given that we were now in Edinburgh, Joey, the Don and I decided to make a holiday out of it too.

First up was, of course, IKEA - this time with a little helper in tow.

Next up was a walk along to Edinburgh Zoo - Joey's pick, in case you didn't work that out! Simina really do have an excellently located new home...

Anyway, the Don and I haven't been since 2019 so there were a few new features that we hadn't yet seen - including the panda's new home and the new giraffe enclosure - but whichever way you look at it it's still a fair hike up a windy hill! And the weather never seems to be the same at the top as at the bottom.

Honestly, the tiger was so cute and furry.  He was just
like our Violetta and you really wanted to just reach out
and stroke his fluffiness.

Got to be one of the best views from a zoo....

There was also lots of yummy eating, LOTS of 'pirate' playing for our Joey (he definitely missed having the siblings around who usually take on that role!) and, of course, streaming the odd swim race...
