Every year The Little Princess Trust provides more than 2,000 real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions such as Alopecia.
The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.
The Little Princess Trust relies solely on the generosity of its wonderful supporters who help the charity give hair and hope to so many children and young people with cancer each year.
Over 12 hair doantions can go into making every real hair wig, and it costs £700 to provide each child or young person with a wig. The Little Princess Trust does not employ any specialist fundraisers so they can only carry out their work thanks to brilliant supporters.
- £150 pays for a professional wig fitting
- £550 is how much it costs to make one wig
- £700 is the cost of providing one wig to a child
- £1,000 can buy new drugs for research testing
- £10,000 measures long-term effects of drugs on children
"There is no pressure to donate, I just thought it might be nice to try and also raise funds for at least one person to get the full wig too. Thank you very much! And I'll send you a photo of my short hair!"
