On our final morning we took the boys to the Gatwick Aviation Museum, just as few miles away from Horsham. There was a massive collection of iconic aircraft and engines from the golden age of British aircraft manufacturing, with hundreds of model aircraft and instrument panels on display. We got up close and personal with a whole bunch of different aircraft, experienced a training mission as we weaved through North Wales and the Lake District on a simulator, plane spotted a few aircraft taking off and landing at Gatwick Airport, and heard about life onboard the Avro Shakleton marine patrol aircraft from a former navigator of that actual plane, and former pilot of a later version.
