Sleepless Night And City Lights

So needless to say we didn't find out who shot JR, or JFK for that matter*, but we did discover once again that you come back from a 'holiday' sharing a room with three children more tired than before you go away.  What with two excitable girls who won't sleep before 10pm even though they're knackered, a morning loving son who thinks a dark 6am is an acceptable time to wake everyone up, and an incredibly soft and small double bed, not much of a rest was achieved.  Still...

...we did manage to see some sights and have some fun in Dallas:

JFK Memorial

Designed as a cenotaph, or 'open tomb', it symbolising the freedom of John F. Kennedy's spirit.  Or so they say.  To read more, click here.

 Dealey Plaza and The Sixth Floor Museum

chronicles the assassination and legacy of President John F. Kennedy and interprets the Dealey Plaza National Historical Landmark District.

 X marks the spot: can you see it?

Pioneer Plaza

commemorates Dallas' beginnings by celebrating the trails that brought settlers to Dallas.  Believed to be the largest bronze sculptures of their type in the world, it re-creates in bronze a cattle drive with longhorn steers being driven by three cowboys on horses.

Dallas Arboretum

is apparently a "Top Ten Thing to Do in America in the Spring", so we did it.

And of course no trip to Dallas would be complete for the Don without checking out the sports:

And maybe next time he'll even get to a game...
