That Girl Is A Cowboy

Speaking of St Patrick's Day and over-celebrating, I'm not sure I've ever seen as much green as I did last Saturday in the Stockyards district of Fort Worth.  Texans, Mexicans, Cowboys, Indians (both kinds), all apparently celebrating their Irish ancestry.  Or perhaps it was just Paddy's Parade that brought out the green tat in people...

Anyway, Stockyards Station was once the biggest and busiest cattle, horse, mule, hog and sheep marketing centre in the South-west, where more than 160 million head of livestock were sold.  Today, it seems to be a chance for out-of-State-ers to experience a bit of the Wild West and see real Cowboys in action.  Which perhaps would have been more exciting for us if we hadn't come from West Texas where Stetsons and Tony Lama's are an every day sight.

But before that, and the highlight of the holiday for Toots at least, we visited the incredibly interactive National Cowgirl Museum.  Naturally Toots insisted on wearing her own cowgirl boots for the occasion, though sadly we left her Jessie outfit at home.

For clarification, there is only five of us.  We're not trying to tell you something!
