This morning started much too suddenly (my fault totally for not actually realising what was required) - which meant a ten-minute organising and dressing dash to the sports centre to relieve the Don who was originally himself supposed to drop and dash to get to church set-up on time - with Lightning taking part in his first Garioch Judo Festival. 220 kids took part in the day-long event, though thankfully the 5-7 year olds were only required for the first two hours.
Each child took part in four 'matches', and although Lightning was totally gubbed in his first one by an older boy (though wearing the same belt as him), he held his own in the following three and enjoyed himself immensely:

Every young'un received a medal too, which was really nice - though don't take anything from his top spot! His was just the first name called...
