What are they for if not escaping from the kids for a day?! Which is exactly what the Don and I did thanks to Oma's weekend visit.
Sure a day shopping in the Big Smoke might not have been the Don's ideal way to spend the day (but you know, this was all about me, and the last time I was in town was oooh, probably before the summer), but it was just lovely to take the bus in, buy myself plenty birthday and Christmas presents - and yes even a few things for the Don - and enjoy a hearty bowl of chicken ramen and a cold Asahi.
Then of course it was home to the fed, bathed and excited children who spent the day present making and birthday baking:
