So far since coming here we've had both
American and
British style pancakes to celebrate Shrove Tuesday. This year we went totally local by
going out to eat them. So to IHOP we trailed along with, to prove my point, half of Midland (the other half probably went to Cracker Barrel), though they were all celebrating National Pancake Day.
A pile of empty plates, a pile of pancakes still left to take home and eat for breakfast this morning, and a pile of happy children later, we came home.

And now that it's the first day of lent, it's time to put up those Easter
decorations. No new ones this year. Yet.
