Aren't birds amazing creatures?

Last year was a bit of a disaster for the poor mother in question, but this year she (we're assuming it's the same one) seems to have protected herself and her nest a bit better.

From the outside it just looks like a jumble of grass and twigs and leaves squashed inside our porch light.  But inside is a perfectly formed nest protected and padded by layers of grass and leaves and feathers.  Amazing how they can do all that just with their beaks...

Not that we've seen the bird for a few days, but we're hoping she comes back soon and uses our home as her home.
