The Street Parade

Last year it was cancelled because of perishing weather, the year before we'd moved house just that day and the house was in no fit state to abandon, so after a two year haitus we headed back downtown tonight to view the Tall City Parade of Lights.

And despite the warm day today, hence the bare legs and no hats or scarves, it was pretty baltic waiting around windy Wall Street for the parade to come.

The animals were by far Joey's favourite things:

That's a donkey and a goat, by the way

Though any moving object also caused him to yelp for your attention:

But the bouncing and crazy angled cars were by far the biggest hit.

Meanwhile, across a couple of Gulfs and an Ocean, our furniture was delivered!!  It's been sitting in Dubai for the last 10 days or so and cleared customs a week ago, but today was the first day off the Don had to receive it.  And despite some rooms looking relatively okay, I think he is feeling somewhat overwhelmed by all the stuff.  Just wait till we arrive and add to it!

Still, he's got a whole, what, nine days? before we arrive, and it's not like he's got anything else to do...  Just buy a family car, get the pool pump fixed, make sure the internet is strong enough on all three floors, change the fridge door opening now he has his tools, put up curtain poles and find a way to cover our windows until we can get curtains, unpack some of those boxes, mow the lawn, and of course teach a week of classes.

Nae buther.
