It's been two years since Run Garioch has taken place 'live', and this was going to be 'the big yin'.
It started out a glorious morning (maybe even too hot for the runners?!), with Toots taking part in the very hilly 5k. She came in 29th of 122 women who ran, and 4th in the <18 Female category which wasn't bad at all for someone who claims she hates running!

We were then originally planning to watch the Don start and finish the 1/2 marathon, but, well, you know... so we went home to enjoy a cup of tea and watch church via YouTube instead. After that the sun had sadly disappeared and it wasn't anywhere near as warm (and I most definitely got out of my short summer dress and back in to jeans and a hoody), but the kiddos had a great time taking part in their races and cheering everyone else they knew on:
| Boys Cat. 2 (7,8,9) 1km - 00:04:04 |
| Boys Cat. 3 (10,11,12) 2k - 00:08:31 |
Turns out I didn't even get a photo of Lightning and his medal... or any of the rest of the crew that we were hanging out with and who ran together. Think we were maybe all just too desperate by then to get back inside for a warm cup of tea. Just as well the sun came back out for the BBQ we'd planned later on though - turned back into a very lovely afternoon! And totally justified Run Garioch moving the race from March to May.
