One and a half years later we finally got to enjoy the fruits of the Don's twenty years with Schlumberger.
We've actually been at three of these events before, though each time the Don was handing out the award and making the speech, and every time have had a great time - what's not to like about a free three-course meal, an open bar and great chat? Tonight though was admittedly better, and not just because of the huge bunch of flowers, the funcy watch, and yes, the free night in the hotel (and "sleeeeeeep in" that I so desperately craved, thanks to Vallel and Co looking after all our kids and getting them to everywhere they needed to be). Best bit though was actually getting to put on a cocktail dress and 4" heels, get my nails done, and enjoy an evening with a man in a kilt for the first time in... ooooh... too long!
